BID helps city centre garden to Bloom!
This beautiful garden has bloomed in the city centre with help from the BID.
Entitled ‘In Sight of the Minster’, the installation by staff and students from Askham Bryan College, won a gold medal at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
It has now been recreated at the Coppergate Centre.
The installation is supported by Make It York, as part of its mini Bloom! Festival this summer, which will celebrate York’s rich tradition of horticulture.
York BID was proud to be the keynote sponsor for the 2018 festival and funded the role of the festival curator, Lotte Inch.
We have sponsored ‘In Sight of the Minster’, which will remain in the Coppergate Centre until the end of June.
Fresh artificial turf will be laid in its place, as Coppergate once again prepares to host Wimbledon on a big digital screen, again supported by the BID.
Bloom! coordinator Lotte Inch said: “We are delighted to support legacy projects such as this, especially as this will bring more greenery into the city.
"York visitors and residents will be able to enjoy this planting in the urban environment and we really appreciate all the hard work that the students from Askham Bryan have put into realising it. We’re excited to hear where this wonderful garden is going to find its forever home.”
