Meet Jumbo the Elephant on Coney Street in York
York BID is inviting families to enjoy a spectacular free city-centre experience this spring as a life-sized animatronic elephant arrives for the latest Family Friendly Saturday event.
Appearing on Saturday 6th June at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm, Jumbo the Elephant is set to captivate families. Towering over crowds at 2 metres tall, Jumbo will explore the area around St Martin’s Clock on Coney Street. With lifelike elephant sounds, playful interactions, and realistic movements, Jumbo the Elephant will bring a little bit of jungle magic to York.

This is our eleventh Family Friendly Saturday, and we’re incredibly proud to have welcomed thousands of families into the city centre through these playful, memorable experiences.”
