CBeebies Rainbow Adventure postponed – but could return to York next year
The CBeebies Rainbow Adventure, due to come to York this autumn, has been postponed.
Promoters of the event, Step Inside Productions, were set to bring the attraction to the city from 11 September to 4 October.
But they have issued a statement saying: "Due to the continuing impact of Covid-19, we have made the decision to postpone the launch of CBeebies Rainbow Adventure until spring 2021. Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our visitors and employees and we thank you for your understanding.
"If you would like a full refund for the tickets purchased please contact our ticketing partner SEE tickets using the contact form at www.seetickets.com/customerservice
"We are working hard planning new dates from 2021 and will endeavour to include as many of the cancelled locations as possible in the new schedule."
Step Inside Productions contacted the BID late last year to help them secure a site suitable for the Rainbow Adventure.
We welcomed the approach as events and festivals are a key area of focus for the BID. Our team identified potential sites and approached stakeholders before settling on the Castle car park next to Clifford’s Tower.
CBeebies Rainbow Adventure is a unique, brightly coloured inflatable structure. Aimed at children up to the age of six, it takes them on a journey through a CBeebies garden and five themed, interactive rooms based on favourites from the TV channel to find the rainbow’s missing colours.
Executive director of the York BID Andrew Lowson said: "It is sad that new attraction for York has had to be postponed, but completely understandable given the circumstances.
"We will work with the promoters and City of York Council to do all we can to enable it to come to York next year."
