York based Private Developers ‘Helmsley Group’ have submitted redevelopment plans for Coney Street, including a new riverside walkway and bridge to enhance the retail and office opportunities. The new riverside walkway would run from City Screen to Ouse Bridge and the buildings alongside the walkway will be redeveloped into hotels, offices, cafes and bars.
Helmsley Group hope to work closely with City of York Council, which has been carrying out its own regeneration project with the development of the Guild Hall (set to be completed 2022).
Key benefits: Improved riverside aesthetics | Redevelopment of underutilised buildings along Coney Street | Residential city centre apartments.
Plans submitted: Plans have not yet been submitted, the Helmsley Group are currently working through various proposals and ideas with the Council.
