York BID is offering a Savings Advisory Service exclusively to its levy paying businesses aimed at saving them money on their business costs. Our expert consultants will analyse your existing service providers across electricity, telecoms, merchant fees, insurance (and more) and search the market to see if a better deal exists.

Since the scheme was launched in May 2018, we have identified £175,403 worth of savings for York Businesses. Our goal is to offer businesses the opportunity to make a return on the money they pay towards the York BID levy. In some cases, savings can be substantially higher than their annual levy bills.

Our service assisted York Museum Trust in making a significant saving on their electricity contract.

‘Meercat Associates offered a professional and supportive service on behalf of York BID.  They helped the Museums Trust by surveying a range of suppliers, the difference between them was over 10%. By having this choice, we have saved on the energy costs we could have incurred. A variance of 10% is significant for the scale of our business.  As well as this saving, the added value was the time and expertise they had in researching the market, all of which was free to us as a BID levy payer’.

Richard Sayward, Head of Visitor Experience at York Museums Trust

Giant Cycles on Lord Mayor’s Walk recently made a saving of £1,337 on their electricity contract which is a return of 8 times their annual BID levy. Our consultants have identified that there is potential for further savings of over £4000.
